Hello All,

To paint the picture. Each Aquarium or most have lids on them. During feeding mostly we have to move the lids etc to place in the food. Now my questions .......I find that wheneve I feed my pleco tanks and i move the glass lid for feeding that all plecos then get startled and swim off. I am wondering if any member has drilled a hole in their lids to just use for feeding and thus not disturbing the Ls ?
Any feedback etc would be appreciated, because i am tempted to try this. cheers jk

My lids don't have handles. They have holes! I just poke the food through the holes and then sit there for 15 10 minutes or so just watching the fish..

i have tight fitting polycarbonate on my tanks stops any condensation, i cut the top off a tetra prima tub Screw top and the collar. i then cut/drill/file a hole so that the tub collar fits nice and tight. i have 2 per tank one each end and works a treat!

will upload photos tomorow if people would like to see.

I leave space between the back and front of all my tanks to allow the evaporated water to escape. I just throw the food in from the front and back. I only open the lids to do water changes. I deal with the humidity by having a high quality dehumidifier running.

I do as others here, glass top with hinged flap for feeding. Don't matter cuz they bolt when I go near the tank. Wait till I dim the lights, then I see the food moving... if they catch me watching them from across the room, I get the unmoving plec ,''eyeballing'' me till I blink--it's gone.

Mine has a plastic led with the feeding flap. Which I have to open the flap VERY carefully in order to feed my L23. If I move the led to fast he swims as fast as he can to a hiding place lol. But I might be tempted to try to the hole in the lid lol.
