How deep should i have it?

Hey everyone. I dunno whether this is a silly post or not but how deep sould i have my black gravel in my new L134 tank?
Im getting a bag from pets at home and i was thinking of having some areas where there is no gravel at all? I would feed them on the gravel 'end'

I run a mix of sand in gravel in mine and it wasn't deeper than an inch and a half maybe a little deeper around plants when I initially put it in. I have Severums that breed alot and move it around quite a bit.:dk: I'd say if you were not going to plant the tank you could get away with a very thin layer. It would be easier to clean also.

I usually use a thin layer of sand. Much easyier to keep clean as waste sits on top of sand and with gravel it holds waste underneath surface

ok thanks guys, i would vacuum it once a week soo.. :dk: i just really like the look of the black gravel. but i want whats best for the fish
