Hey All,

Quick question : now i know the water is clear and with driftwood it goes brown colour which is normal

Now i wanted to ask this - i have been to a fish auction that a seller sells fish but his water is a beautiful blue colour .

How is that possible ? someone told me that he must have added to much prime to the bag of fish he was selling - but i tested it with a bag with water only and still clear .

I just want to know how its possible - cause it looks so cool ! lol

(In sydney - cichlid auction who ever go's there much have noticed it as well)

Not sure, was there a background on the tank? or was it uncovered?
Maybe some sort of lighting?

Methylene blue?
How blue is it? I've seen Bettas come in with pretty dark looking water, nearly full dose type color.

I use "Bag-Buddies" when i ship fish.

Its a small tablet that has allsorts of goodies in it to calm the fish, neutralise ammonia and release oxygen.

it turns the water a light blue colour.

I certainly wouldnt reccomend using them just for the asetic aspect of the blue water though.

I have seen somewhere dyes for aquariums.. supposedly they were non toxic to the fish. I shall have a look around to see if I can find the site again, but im not sure i would be so trusting!

There was a product we stocked in the LFS for a while called deep blue it was a fish friendly water dye (blue) i was in Oz at that time so you should be able to get that.
