agreed with above:)
vary the diet with fresh vege like boiled pumpkin zuchini/courgette etc, this will give them good nutrition to condition them to breed

My ph is 6.2 and all Pepps are either guarding fry or have eggs in cave's.

You need a well balanced diet and clean water.(ie change enought water so no solid waste is visable in tank)

I feed 5-6 type's of tablets thought week a few different flake food for dither fish and each night a few types of vegetables and fruit.

Make sure enought wood is present to have a few hiding spots for mum(s) and a few extra bits for fry.

Reducing lights for the first few weeks help fish to settle faster so if bright lighting is used reduce hours than increase as they settle down.

My two took about 6 weeks after i got them delivered from adelaide before they bred, i found the best idea is to get it as dark as you can in there i even put a towel over the front of the tank to stop any light and before i know it daddy was fanning the eggs. Water changes around low pressure system times helped me heaps too, any a nice tight fit cave.
Good luck! it will happen.

Well said littlebristlenose I feed mine nls cichlids formula plus veg here and there I try to avoid too much veg as it can affect water if I forget to take it out ie being lazy
Veg for fry
My peps breed on 2nd week of wc of every second third day ! Lights being off !

Best info is condition them before tring to breed them

Good luck
