Just look up hypancistrus contradens, i don't think it has a L number. L201 is smaller and stubbier, contradens grows a lot bigger and has bigger spots.

hmm

It has been my understanding that L102 never made it to Oz, l could be wrong:dk:.

Easy to solve, L102 are meant to be 15cm+ fish, put up a picture, there worth a thousand words:D

L102 have a black edging to the dorsal fin, contradens do not.
L201 do not grow as large as a contradens, nor are their white spots as large.

Yes contradens are very rare in Australia and there are only a very few around.
They take a long time to mature and get to full size. Longer even than the L201's. :re:

I have seen photos of the fish for sale and although they aren't great photos, I do believe it is a Hypancistrus Contradens as advertised.

Thanks for helping me clear that up guys. As we all know, sometimes L numbers and their scientific names create a lot of confusion. Thanks
