Hi,

The other day i found 1 of my Apistos (Alice) dead. This morning i looked in tank to see HT panting and looking tired. Cooper came swimming over and start whpping HT with his tail and butting him.
This evening i found HT dead.
I've had them about 5 months from 2 months old. I worked out that Alice, Cooper and HT were males and Patch and Lady were female so I'm guessing there's been some fighting over the females.
3 males and 2 females weren't a good mix but i wasn't to know what sex they are when i bought them off ebay.

Thanks

J

mate sorry to hear from your loss for your apisto cacs. Not nice when that happens. If you have a larger tank, then 2 males would have been fine in my view. cheers jk

Ok now patch has died. I thought patch was female but on closer inspection it was male.
Same thing happened. Cooper whipping and butting. I now have a male and female left and Cooper is shaking his tail and showing his fins at Lady.
Gonna keep an eye on them.
