id needed please

hi guys need a posative id on these as someone as thrown a spanner in the works today and told me their not what i bought them as not the best pics but the best i can get
pic of the big male

the smaller male although he as droped his coloure their normally jet black with fine spots

Looks to me like L100? What was it supposed to be.

l 100 but a guy who came round to buy some albino off me told me they were l181 as he kept them for years cheers

well 181 can get quite big (7 inches), and hard to tell in your pic, but I think they are not that big?
they are super, do you know where they came from?
could be L71? are they really the same as L181 ? have you looked in the 'back to nature' book?

I'd have pegged it as L100 or L181 also

their about 4 inch i bought them as l100 they have a little white tip on top of the tail fin been told the l71 l181 doesnt have any white on the tail. their on their second lot of eggs at the moment the first batch failed. is their any way of telling the fry appart from L100 and L181 cheers

saw a really good article ages ago in pkf I think, on white seams. went through the different plecs, the young and adults and when they loose the white etc. cant find it on their web site so may be a while back. I dont keep back issues very long, but you could email them?
