Id on Panaque

So these are two fresh photo's from today. Click on image to get a closer look.





the other two who gave me babies are in a separate tank doing their stuff hopefully.

So the stripes down the side of the fish do stop before the head, from then on its a dull brownish colour, you can make out markings but very very faint. Just to help

I had put these fish up when i got them and L-ko did suggest that they maybe a Peru II. http://www.panaqolus.de/en/arten/panaqolus-sp-peru-ii/

I'm going to leave this id to the pro's on here and go with the flow.

They are stunning looking fish, especially the male in the top photo.
I have not see these live and I would not even like to have a stab at them. Looking at the photo on that panaqolus site, I would say L-Ko is on the right track. cheers jk :thumbup:

Does look very similar to the Peru 11, apart from in the link pic the dorsal and tail fin look more transparent than yours. Haven't found anything else yet that has pictures similar yet though.

I asked Ingo Seidel. He confirmed this pleco looks like Panaqolus sp. "Peru II"
