ID please

This is my friends, they have had it a year and abit, and its only grown not much more than an inch in that time, currently 6 to 7 inch. Could some ID please, sorry for the picture quality

It's one of the Pterygoplichthys species which makes it one of the 'common plecos', and I think it's Pterygoplichthys pardalis.

they will grow very quickly under optimum conditions, maybe its been kept previously in a small tank and its growth has been stunted, or maybe your friends tank isn't quite right for it:dk:

also, are you keeping them to clean the tank only, or are you also feeding them fresh ,raw veggies at night too ? They can't get by on alage only, so wafers and zucchini and other veggies are necessary. There is a veggie list on this site if you need to look it up , HTH Commons will grow large !!!
