He (pretty sure its a he, can see hairs in the right places?) is around 2 inches, here are some more pics. It has been suggested may be an L400?
Yes, male and eyes are way to big to be L174. Spotting looks like L400 but eyes are the size and shape of L66.... if you can get a shot of the dorsal and/or tail fin that where erect it would help with the ID too. HTH

I went back to the same shop today, when I bought him there were two other plecs in the tank. They were marked as L66, but this one is very different. After looking at many L66 photos and the article of L66 Vs L333, I am sure this is L66.
I notice on the tank next to it that they had a sign that said L174 on it but and empty tank, could it possibly have been in the wrong tank when I bought it? After looking at some other L174 it is the closest I have seen so far. What do you think?

There is no chance it is L174.... as I said the eyes are way to big. Take a look at the eye size of your plec and L174.... big difference. L400's and L399's are often mixed in with L66's

maybe its a cross between 2 hypans ?
i cant really pinpoint its dentity... yes the eye is def L066 and body pattern looks L174... :dk::dk::dk:
