Dear All

I am currently trying to breed my l-104's and quite a few of our forum members were prompt to try and help.
Today I am here to try and find out what how deep should I make the breeding caves, Jo advised that entrance should be around 2 cm diameter but I forgot to ask how deep, if anyone could help I would be very grateful.

Will try and drill my caves tomorrow if our beloved English weather permits :)

Ps: caves I got in the tank at the moment seem far too big and male wont be able to trap females, size of current caves are 4.5 inches deep and 32 mm in diameter,

Many thanks in anticipation.

The caves you have already are quite similar to what I have bred them in. I always offer a range of sizes to be sure. I have bred P.maccus in slate, ceramic, terracotta and bamboo logs/caves. It all seems to be down to what each individual male selects and if he can wiggle his tail enough to get a date.
