I have had these 10 little inch sized L007 vampires a week now (got them flown to me from the breeder on the other side of Australia) and it looks like they are going to live without dying in my tank.
So piccies are in order.

Yup the pink spots are still pink outa water as well. 8)

No spots underneath them tho.

They were fresh outa the frysaver so they had to learn to negotiate my gravel first up and it could be a while before those cherry shrimp become lunch.

I love these plecs!
I might as well just accept that I can never afford zebras and aim for these instead! Lol..

Good to hear they're going well.

With L007 not being on our import list in Australia, only ones brought in prior to the import list are available. There would not have been a whole lot brought in and even fewer which survived and were bred as adults.

I think this successful spawn of L007 may we be an Australian first. Lets hope the breeder can breed lots and lots so everyone can have some.

Don't ask me who the breeder was as he/she wishes to remain anonymous and I only dealt with a close friend of the breeder.

MikeW now has quite a few of the spawn for sale as again the breeder does not want attention.

And no, the pink was NOT photoshopped in. Some fry do actually have pink spots when very little. It will fade to a white with more maturity.

Oh no! My pink spots are fading. Oh well it was nice while it lasted. These guys don't seem fussy with food at all. Never a skerrik of any food left.
If you want to know what they are doing in a net, I was doing a gravel vac under their logs and I didn't want to bump anyone while I was doing it, plus I wanted a darned good stickybeak. :D
