Hi Johno

Really love the look of your zeb fry, nice clean photo's makes a difference :)

In your opinion are the smaller ones more likely to be females or way too young to tell?

I would dearly love to add to my collection, but too many other expenses at the moment very unfortunately... One day would love to get some of your fry :)

Cheers

its purely guess work at 3cm... but looking at these fry i would guess 2m3f or 3m2f.... but could be completely wrong - another cm or so in size and you have a better chance of guessing their sexes... the biggest reason for selling at around 3cm - gives everybody a fair chance of getting some females... some breeders in the past grow em up till they can pretty much pick females out of the batch and sell off the remaining males as unsexed... this was a small spawn of 7 but 2 eggs hatched couple days after the 5 and only lasted couple days as wrigglers and died... looked like their tail didnt seperate from the egg sac during development....

Hi Chaz,

They will be fine with 134 and u got a great size of tank. however give the size of the fish, it might be hard for the time find the food in such a big tank.

Cheers.

hi chaz - zebs dont compete well with other plecos as a rule... they get bullied off the food and dont prosper as they should....

with such a large tank i would use a divider to keep 134's and 046's apart...

134's are a much bigger bulkier pleco and will easily trap the smaller 046 and may well kill it.... if your zebs were adults and 134's were small it would be ok for a while... plus if you did have a zeb corner and kill a 134 it doesnt hurt your pocket as much as the other way around...

but having said all that its still quite possible they would live in harmony in such a large tank and you never have any issues... but personally i wouldnt risk it :)

Thanks Bigjohnofish for your expert advice, i much appreciate it. As mentioned i have just started with pleco's and i am hooked, they are an awesome fish :)

Now looking at starting a tank just for some Zeb's, any advice for a specific tank just for Zeb's would be great.

Also i will keep a close eye on this site for when you may be selling more Zeb's
