l100/l181/l182/l184 hummmm ??????

Hi guys, to cut a long story short i have some fish i need to ID so i can add another female to the group,

the fish: there aprox 1.5-2 yr old, and approx 4" long

they where listed as L183 - i don't think they are these unless there seams have faded although from above they have lighter patches on the skin similar to a l183

L100- i have had it suggested to me they maybe these

L181- someone who breeds 181 suggested they might be these
L182- bristle stary, could be these but dont they have mainly orange spots....

anyway guys have a look see if you can get an id on these fellors....

At that age, and as mature as they are, i'd say you had adult/ near adult fish, so can rule out L181 and L182.
L100 would certainly fit.

is that a no to the 181 because there not long enough?

some one suggested they could be this as his where 4.5" and breeding at just over 2yrs old......

i agree now there not a l182, l183 crossed my mind but need to find out if they lose there white seams with age,

l100
l181

are the most proberble outcome,

now to find a difference between the 2

Dave, dunno if this helps but this a male L181 i kept for a brief time.

the stress markings on the body look similar,

i'll give the fins and thickness a once over too.....

Strange how no one mentions Hybrids outside of Hypans?

I have had l100, L181, L183, L182 and to be honest the fish with the exception of L183 are all quite hard to tell apart.

and in answer to your question about the L183, they shouldn't lose their white seam as far as i'm aware

think i've found my fish,

its a l181,

have ruled out most of the others, #
