L129 pair?

These guys have baffled me a little, they are fully grown mature L129, one is a very obvious male and the other has the shape of a female and is smaller but is quite hairy.

Can anyone else confirm this is a pair? Cheers all

It also baffles me. That is one hairy Female if that is what it should be. The belly is slightly larger than the male. Do they both cave ? Have you tried removing the dominant male to see if the other unknow fish then becomes hairier or caves ? mmm interesting cheers jk :thumbup:

I would say female. Perhaps the camera is picking up the soft downy hairs and making it look like hard odontode male hairs?

I did originally have a trio of these but recently sold one of them. They both cave but all of my female hypans do.

They were sexed on here at the time as 1 x male and 2 x females, heres the link
