Hey everyone
I already have 5 male L134's but have managed to get hold of these beauties to join my colony. This has also been posted on PC forum but im hoping for as many opinions as possible, so basically i'd like some help sexing them if anyone fancies the challenge :d
i have my own thoughts on a few of them but im only 50/50 at best with some of them.......
I have labelled the fish 6 through to 17...... Fish 1 - 5 are definite males so i have left them out. I have added the Standard length and Total length sizes to the fish to hopefully make it a bit easier.
The tub they were pictured in is 100mm x 1600mm

My thoughts are as follows :-
Fish 1-5 = All Male
Fish 6 = possible female
Fish 7 = male
Fish 8 = possible female
Fish 9 = unsure
fish 10 = possible female
Fish 11 = Definite female
Fish 12 = male?
Fish 13 = Male
Fish 14 = female
Fish 15 = Male
Fish 16 = male
Fish 17 = female

but i'm no expert and would love some other opinions, as there is a good chance i might be wrong :((
so here goes....

Fish 6 SL=65mm TL=78mm

Fish 7 SL=58mm TL=70mm

Fish 8 SL=83mm TL=95mm

Fish 9 SL=75mm TL=82mm

Fish 10 SL=62mm TL=76mm

Fish 11 SL=100mm TL=120mm

Fish 12 SL=76mm TL=89mm

Fish 13 SL=62mm TL = 74mm

Fish 14 SL=74mm TL=82mm

Fish 15 SL=65mm TL=73mm

Fish 16 SL=50mm TL=68mm

Fish 17 SL=60mm TL=72mm

Thanks in advance for the help

Hello,

Ok I would say that looking at head shape you have at least M and F. In all honesty, they seem quite small and to young to sex. I would honestly wait 10months and repost. These are just my thoughts. cheers jk

You probably looked at them way longer than me but here's my guestimate.
Females 7, 10, 11, 12, 14, 17.
Males 1-5, 8, 9, 13, 15, 16.
Some fantastic colors and patterns in them. Congrats. :)

Thanks for the guesstimates so far :D

I am growing them on and fattening them up at the minute so hopefully all will become a little bit clearer after that. I know fish 11 is definitely female (think everyone is agreed on that) and 2 of my original males (fish 1-5) are around the 90mmSL mark so i'm going to put Fish 11 and my biggest 2 males in a breeder and see how we get on. The rest are in a species only tank with plenty of cover/caves, and lots of food and water changes to bring them on.......
Time will tell :D
