L164?

Hi, partner went to LFS and fell in love with this pleco so purchased it. Advertised as a Red Spot. Can't find much information on them. Am I right in thinking it is a L164?

I think its l165 / l083

While it could be a L164, it is more likely a Gibbiceps. When it gets older it's markings will become more defined. Alot of them are spotted when young.

Thanks, she thought it was something else but they said no it's a red spot, and only thing we could find about red spot said L164.

As long as you have space, they are a lovely plec.

Despite all the other unusual plecs we have, we added a gibby to our collection on Sunday

Yea we are loving it. Especially when he swims around with all his fins out. They do take up a lot of room. Ours is about 3" for now haha.

Gibby all the way and he will get large, but they are a stunning fish. cheers jk :thumbup:
