Hi Folks

Just picked up my L184 group of 8 fish :woohoo::woohoo::woohoo:
photos to follow.

Has any one breed or had any success with this fish?:-/

I am a bit confused as no signs of bristles on any of my fish and my experience with this genus is that males start to show sexual development quite soon.
Mine are around 2†at the most.
Any info or help would be great.
Checked the usual sites P/C and L-Welse ECT.
Was thinking of posting on P/C but find it very sudo scientific and a pain to be honest. :wb::wb::wb:

So I am hopping some one here has tried to breed this fish.:whistle::whistle::whistle::whistle:

Hi,

Do not have these but some translation for you from L-welse.

- L184 is L107 vv

- both male and female get bristles, males longer and less in the middle
- aquarium set up as usual for all ancistrus types, sandy soil , caves, driftwood enough for each individual to get a spot.
- soft water 25-29C
- no need for current but extra oxygen is suggested. They like hiding under rocks or timber
- good filter needed
- omnivore, be careful with very protein rich foods
- breeding- soft water ph 5-6. cavespawner, every 4-6weeks approx 30-40 eggs are laid, fry cannot tolerate ph over 7 for the first weeks. after 4weeks the fry adjust to tap water etc.

hope this helps a little cheers jk

my honest opinion is they are still very small and in stress colours. Would givethem time to settle in their tank and these spots will vary but should get same when larger. thats just my opinion. cheers jk
