Hi, thanks for your reply. I don't think it is Pterygoplichthys joselimaianus (L 1/L22), it was in a tank with L-001s and it looks completely different. P. joselimaianus has the gold spots and flecks all over there body and an even colouring, this fish doesn't and has an almost camouflage pattern of light and dark exactly like L313 Pterygoplichys spec. as shown in Aqualog L-numbers book.

Hi,

There is only one criterion to distinguish between the two forms of Pterygoplichthys (cf.) joselimaianus : the point size. (See Catfish Atlas)
The uneven coloring looks like stress coloring.
Let's see when this pleco is older and normally colored.
