L333 sexing

Hey guys.

I have got three smallish L333, one is about 5-6cm and the other two a tad smaller. I think I have go one male and two females, going by growth rates, physical features (hair on pectoral fins strarting to develop), and caving habits of the three fish.

Is this about the time that you can begin to start picking sexes, or am I jumping the gun a bit and seeing things? :whistle:

Here you go, all but the last two are the suspected male. As you can see on the 'females' there isn't as much pectoral fin 'hair', and no hair on the body, whereas with the 'male' you can see hair forming.

only taking a stab in the dark here and would say all the pictured 333's look male to me.....

do they play fight and what do they do in regards to caving???

Only play fight when bloodworm is in the water, but they will all share an algae wafer or piece of zuchini. The only one that caves is the suspected male, the other two prefer to hang out around the wood.

Don't know if it has anything to do with it when sexing L333 but pics 3 and 4 seem to have a rather blunt and rounded adipose fin rather than a thinner pointed one.

Just went out and had a quick look.

The only fish I could see was one suspected female, and its adipose fin ray was more strait, and not as curved at the end of it, like in the pictures o the male.

Would you guys think it would help to sex them if I pulled them out and got pictures of them from above for you?
