I bought 5 L46 2 weeks ago but so far I haven't seen they eat at all so any idea what happen or what I have done wrong? the group is currently keeping inside a 20H with 100% ro water, temp @ 86F, driftwoods, caves, and 2 large sponge filters. The only foods I have tried so far were frozen bloodworm, mussels, and algae wafers.

any idea?

100% ro reconstituted with something or straight ro? May not be enough current(=aeration) with just sponge filters. What type of cover do you have for them? W/o cover they could be stressed and not eating.

Sorry reread your post. Is it just that you dont see them eat? Zebras are pretty shy so might be awhile before you actually see them eat.

does their stomach look sunken ? Some people rub garlic on the food. Apparently this stimulates eating for the L046 I would also add some more current in the tank. What size tank and other fish do you have in the tank ? The more info the better the deduction if possible. Also shot of the tank ? cheers jk

I thought the same thing but think they are just shy as they have full little bellies.
I was worried they wouldn't compete with the other fish for food.
I have noticed them poking their little heads out a bit more & playing around a bit together.
I'll be interested in your setup details too
Thanks for the garlic tip :)

If you cant tempt them with a shrimp pellet there is something wrong with them. Mine love em. Feed an assortment of foods though. Just a tiny portion of each as they havent got very big bellys.

all 5 are inside a standard 20H ( 24"Lx12"Dx16"H ) Still working on setup a 40g breeder to move them out so I can add a powerhead to create more current for them. There is no other fish or species of pleco with them so will it be a good idea to add some or keep them as a single specie tank?

I dont keep any other fish with zebs although there is a dwarf cory somewhere in the tank I have never been able to catch.
There are heaps of cherry shrimp in the tank for a clean up crew.

I hope its not just pure RO water and you have remineralised the tank. you dont mention how mature the tank is, is it a new set up?
try more range of food such as flakes and granules as well as peas with skin off
