i think the misses is getting fed up of me going on about algea this plants that ect ect.
she said "why don,t u just remove some off them then"
some off the tanks i,ve seen do look good with a small amount of plants in them.
not sure,something to think about...

if you get the balance right, then even 75L tanks look great with rocks, driftwood and some plants. It is achievable but also depends on taste.
Show us a photo of your tank and then we could get a better idea. cheers jk

only the front of the tank has changed a little, but most plants have grown loads.
its only an idea the misses put in my head.(so no plans to do it yet) there are only 4 plants, java ferns, that arnt in the sand.the one that are in the sand would stay but be trimmed a little.
the ones on the bog wood i would keep, nana anubus x3, and the floating bog wood with a micro java tied to it.

this is just my view, but it look good. I would just trim some leave s off and if needed clear the front part a little bit. See how you go. Like someone says, the good thing between a good haircut and a bad haircut is 4weeeks. so basically have a look, trim and worse case it will grow back. cheers jk

Mate I think it looks good but if you feel like a change then go for it, I had a lot people tell me I was nuts for pulling down my planted tank but I'm happy with the results. A change is always nice

Hi all,
I agree with Bigbird that looks a good tank, and for me that is almost exactly the right planting. Definitely "if it isn't broke, don't fix it",

Yes, just give it the occasional trim.

More cover makes your fish feel more secure, so you are likely to see them, (rather than less) and the plants also improve water quality.

For keeping rheophilic Plecs I wouldn't probably have any more plants than you've got, as they may start to interfere with the water flow and reduce O2 levels at night.

cheers Darrel

hi darrel, the flow was one off the resons for a good trim, and i like some less planted tanks.i had a count up and its only 8 leaves that will be removed, but where they are will increase the flow a bit and also let the baby ferns grow.
ill be doin it tomorrow with a water change, pic to follow then.
ps cheers for pm

If it is doing her head in stop telling her about it! Nothing wrong with the tank.
