light mounting?

Hi,

I have a couple of the light units in the ebay link below, i know how to set them up etc but how do you fit/mount them to the tank? Surely they dont just lay on top? What if they fall off or even worse, in the tank!!

Can you buy clips or brackets for them?

Usually with those, the ballast is mounted seperately to the hood and the light bulbs are mounted in clips which is mounted to the hood.

Hmmm what if you have a tank that does not have a hood? Trying to think of a way i would be able to secure it!

Well those lights are really designed for a hood and you probably want to get or make one. For one mounting would be easier and for another if you don't you'd have most of your light simply lighting up the room and not your tank.
