they sell them for tiny tanks, whole unit is about the size of my blackberry, if that current is still strong them attach a spray bar I guess.

Eheim do a filter for tanks containing this sort of amphibian.
Try looking on “The Aquarist Shop” a German site but in English.

thanks guys- alfie is really fussy so your help is great. I have tried the spray bar but it stresses him out- guess its the noise as originally i think they live in swampy still water. The sponge filter sounds really good..... and im on my way to check out that site mac.

respect and thanks to you all

they live in deep cool water with little ot no movment.
i've kept these dudes for a while and never used a filter chosing to do freqent water changes because of there liking of still water. only due to health am i looking for a filter

BUTTTTTTT i have to differ on apinion about 'deep' water. they orginated from the shallow waters fresh waters of thesouth shore of the lake, Lake Xochimilco in Mexico. So most hobbiest say that the water they are to be kept in should on be as deep as they are long.

I dont mean to be argumental just didn't want people new to them getting the wrong idea.
