lubricant fishy safe

Im new to externals and my manual says use aquarium safe lubricant on the O-Rings.... are their certain brands that do aquarium safe? or can i use Vasaline or any other off the shelf supermarket brand, what should i be looking out for not to use in ingredients?

Do not use Vaseline as it damages the o-rings...Always use silicon spray or a silicon grease...I sell Eheims spray but its not cheap.

I agree with Derek
Eheim spray is about the best an alternative is "Food safe Silicon" but the cost is the same

Thanks for the prompt response guys ill look into this, one guy mentioned just dip the oring in tank water???

That will only wet the o-ring...It will do nothing to protect and lubricate the parts... Doing it right will add years to your filter.
