making the most of tank space

hello boys, girls and all inbetween

I have a tank that is 24" x48", i LOVE PLECO'S and dont want to get a fish for getting a fish sack to fill the 20" the plec's do not take up.

Has anyone ever added platforms to the back/sides of the tank to create a second, false floor type thing for pleco's to use?:dk:

any ideas would be great.
