Male peppermint?

Hi all is this a male with the ortanodes? i believe females do not get them?

Both males and females get them in ancistrus. In ancistrus its more the bristles that are the key feature. That does look like a male though.

If there are bristles on top of its head its a male, if there only around mouth should be female. Hope this helps.
