marine blue light tubes

hello,im after some advice please,i have a 40watt t8 coral blue 4ft tube and i just want to know if these are growlights or not? i dont want a growlight so i dont have an excess algae problem,maybe theyre used to grow coral im not sure,would anyone know please.

Its a bulb for keeping/growing coral, thus the name.
Its not a grow light like what is typically used to grow freshwater plants. I do believe however that algae love the blue spectrum of light so you could get a serious algae problem using that bulb on a freshwater tank.
