Heyup everybody,
New member here, nice looking site you've got here.

I'm looking for advice on keeping an L240 Galaxy I bought last week.
The guys in the shop told me to feed it sweet potato and cucumber as a treat and algae wafers as staple food.
Then I go on the internet and find out its a carnivore!
The fish is about 3" long, including tail, and its been hiding away under some bogwood since I bought it on Friday.
All advice much appreciated.
Cheers, Mike

Hiya Mike, welcome to plecoplanet.

First rule: never listen to what most fish shop workers tell you (there are some good ones but they are a minority i'm affraid)

Your Galaxy pleco will do best on a very varied diet, try everything and you'll find some things he goes for, others he wont touch.
I've had carnivorous plecs that love algae wafers and courgette etc, but most wont touch fresh veg.
tetra prima always goes down well with mine, they take flake food too, as well as frozen bloodworm, mussel etc, so just experiment with him. he may take a few goes with certain things before he realises that it is actually food (they aren't too bright lol)
