Mustard Spot?

So my LFS sold me this guy for $20 saying he was a mustard spot pleco whose color was off from being stressed. No tag for the little guy so I'm wondering if he got his ID right or if I got a deal?

At the moment it measures about 2in. Brown with cream tan vertical stripping and multiple small yellowish dots on body and fins. Has cat like whiskers and a very pronounced sucker.

Doesn't quite look like a mustard spot (Panaque) but rather a Hypancistrus possibly. Difficult to tell for certainties the angle of the photo. A profile shot and mouth shot would make Id easier.

Thanks for your reply. I just added him to the tank about a week ago and still very shy. Those were the best pics I've been able to get. I'll work on that. But I agree I didn't think it was a Panaque either.

I think I may have come for my up with a match for my mystery plec friend. I'm thinking it's Hypancistrus lunaorum L 339. Anyone have any insight on this particular L sp?
