My Common Plec - Very Sad Update

Following my update of yesterday, I woke up this morning to find he had died overnight. He was still in the same position with his tail bent over, just at the bottom of the tank and not sucked on anymore. Very sad, but I feel I did all I could for him without trying to stress him out too much.

None of the meds I gave him made any difference and on looking at him I would say he had a stroke four weeks ago and maybe he had another one last night which proved fatal. :dk:

BUT HE MADE IT TO THE GRAND OLD AGE OF 13 YEARS!

Anyway, thank you to everyone who gave me advice and kind words and thanks for following my Plecs story. <3

sorry to hear that mate, But you did everything possible to make him better. Poor thing, i believe it was a stroke seeing as no meds made any difference. Thats a good age even for a plec, all the best

That's really sad, but great to think he lived a really long life with you, that's because he got great care.

Thanks guys - it's nice people care so much. <3

We are now in the process of gutting the tank to start again, however, the kids are having an input - bridges, castles, treasure troves and no fishing signs have all been demanded, not to mention having fish that actually move! - so heaven knows what we'll end up with

so sorry for your loss , 13 yrs certainly attests to the care and love you have given him , he was lucky and in the end you know you tried everything. Good that you plan to start again ...it's a must IMO
