Someone in our town was giving away krib fry, so I got 5

Pelvicachromis pulcher

The one in photo is the largest as was born in Dec and is a female. The others were born in Feb so much smaller.

I will get more photos when i get a new tripod and not have to use the tripod with the broken wobbly leg, kinda defeats the object really.

they are pretty fish, I bought a few to help clean the tank (eg of planaria and baby snails etc) but gave them away as could not keep with breeding plecs and cories as they will go for the fry. Plus mine all turned out to be female so could not even try a pair in the qt tank as they fought if in same tank!

Very nice pick up :)

We had a pair of kribs many moons ago when we had tanks at home. They spawned and the male would pin the rest of the inhabitants of the tank in one corner while the female took the fry for a little swim  was hilarious to watch but probably not very nice for the fish pinned up the corner with a grumpy male nipping at them :re:

Im not breeding anything at the mo apart from MTS lol but im going to separate them when they are all sexable, plus they are all related so don't want to be breeding them.

In the wild Kribs have a strange breeding patten the male will have several females and visit each one to check on the eggs ect

I have seen them in a very big tank performing this activity and they are quite a sight swimming every were looking under plants and rocks to check the situation .

That must of been cool to watch:yes:

First time ive kept cichlids. One day would like mouth brooders or shell dwellers.

Shellie's are great they dart back in the shell at the first sign of danger.

Then later you see lots little fry popping in and out
