Yep I due use CO2, my set up is a dupla reactor s, red sea undergravel heating, seachem fertilizers (flourish, iron, equilibrium) and three layer substrate (granit sand, laterliter, 2m gravel, 2x 36w blue planet uv filters, ehime pick up filter, ehime surface skimmer, juwel in tank filter (stock), fluval 405 to run CO2 reactor.

The way I keep my Alge down and close to nill is by using very fast growing plants (wisteria & baby tears) in the background and balance my fertilization accordingly,
My slower growing plants use up most of what ever the fast growers don't there for very little nutrients are left over for alge, and when ever my slow growers seam to need more nutrients I can usually just give the fast growers a good trimming and problem solved.

Oh and ofcourse 30-40% water changes weekly.

well you wouldn't know you had any equipment in your tank which is good. You run 3 filters? How have you attached the CO2 reactor to the 405? Pics?

What is the benefits of the undergravel heating apart from it is hidden?

The undergravel heating does a couple of things... it creates a small current from the buttom up as the heat rises thus circulates fresh water all through the substrate and gravel levels, roots of true aquatic plants like warmer substrates and they will develop deeper healthier root sistems when they have these warm currents from the buttom.

There are two types of undergravel heating, the ones that you can use to keep the whole water in the tank at a set temp (Dupla $$$$) and others that only create the small heat exchange current but dont really impact that much in the tanks temp (Red sea).

My cheapo Jebo 805 that i use in my 5' Cichlid tank packed it yesterday so i have switched out that 405 to replace it but in its place i set up a small Aqua nova 400l/h canister filter to run the reactor ill post some pics shortly....
