Yes, I'm aware that it just an empty tank...but I'm very proud of it!!

I've done a lot of work to it. The stand was a really ugly fake wood applique and I sanded it down a painted it black. The hood was an awful brown and was filthy. I gave it a good scrub with vinegar and painted it black too. Fixed the light strip, replaced the glass in the hood, and got a new bulb!
I'm ready to start setting it up! Very excited!

Thanks for looking:hi:

look forward to news as you prepare it. will you put some small fish in to help mature the filter before adding plecs?

Once everything is ready and the tank has cycled I was planning on adding the plecs first and then tank mates. Should I do it the other way around?

How are you cycling your tank?
In general, plecs are thought to be a bit more sensitive to water conditions than many other common aquarium fish. Thus, plecs are typically added last (or later than other fish) to allow for the tank to mature a bit.

Using the fishless cycling method. I've done it before and seems to do the trick, no?

I'll add the other fish first then. should I then set up a QT tank for the plecs before I add them to the big tank?
