Need suggestion on L135

Hi,

Anyone have any idea how to trigger them. I've done most of the stuff required like lowering TDS and let it build up before hand.

The female is quite gravid now but they don't seem to be interested in doing the deeds.

Have you lifted your proteins? it often help's with most plecs if you add some competition.

Their diet consist of very high fat and protein.......lol....1 tablets equivalent of 2 goldfish.

Very good id try to stay away from too much fat as obesity in plecs is definitely not uncommon, just keep your protein high.

The problem with feeding fish any thing with fat is that is that as it more than likely going to be mammal fat the fish will have very little chance of digesting it. reason no animal in nature gets fat, only mammals have fat in abundance, very few fish eat mammals.

so it is either passed straight through or stored and not used.

I can remember when people started to keep "Red Tailed Cats" and would feed the beef heart a very fatty food, the problems with tanks becoming unbalanced due to the amounts of fatty acids were amazing.

avoiding fats for fish is for me a rule.

anyway king tell us a bit more.
what temp is the tank? what tank mates (eg any cories, guppies ?),
how many fish of what sex, how many caves , etc
tank photo would help too.
do you have other tanks (eg tank with breeding BNs that you can take some water from)

Thanks Irene gone through that post many times already....lol

They just don't seem interested in doing anything. Oh well I'm getting out of the catfish so all my collection will be up for sale very soon. Just need to take some photos and post them on here and PF.
