hi , :welcome: and does the plec have a cave or something to hide in to feel safe ? he may be hiding behind/next to the heater for coverage :dk: just a thought . good luck and keep us informed ,the plec health site here is a good one and more folks might see your post there. hang in there ,

Hi, is tha jaguar a new addition?, perhaps he attacks the plec in the night? hard to tell from the pic if they are healing wounds or a skin fungal infection. you might like to treat with some eSHA 2000 as will help heal, reduce infection and kill any fungal problem.

Welcome,
Mine get that all the time. I think the other fish nibble on them. They are never damaged more than just on top and heal up pretty quickly. I havn't lost one because of it yet so I think you will be ok. As ar as a heater, I have a 4" bushynose that practically lives crammed between the glass and a 250 watt heater set to 80° and he does fine and never leaves it unless I am cleaning or moving things around. Sucks because I never get to really enjoy him since he is always crammed in the corner. Unless you see a bigger spot that looks like it is health threatening I wouldn't worry.
