thanks guys, both 25s are in now allong with 2x 24 and 1 L273 and are all seeming very happy, showing great colours and feeding well. went for the ehiem 2080 in the end, cost a bomb but it is a very good filter! so powerfull but wispers like a monk!

thanks ff, yeah they are geophagine or earth eaters. im going for swimingpool pool filter sand. is 100% silica so shouldnt adjust the ph and is less fine than the silica play sand for kids so it wont float about so much and get caught up in the filter.
