Set it up last week but found some great deals in bogwood in the last few days so re-done it today. I'm happy with it now :). The pics aren't brilliant as I only have my phone for pics.

Opinions?

looks good, but be very carefull of the sand. having it that deep and well covered with wood and plants etc could make cleaning very hard and with sand you need to clean it well to eliminate gas build ups

looks great.:clap::clap::clap:
As kev says, you'll have to make sure you give the sand a good turning over each time you do a water change.

The sand only looks deep at the front because the shark and plec's like digging holes under the wood. There's only about 2/3" of sand tops. I dig around in the sand in all my tanks about every other week to prevent gas build up's anyways :).

Nice Setup! Do plecs cope with sand well? (noob to plecs.. sry)
Generally yes they do, but big plecs like commons, gibbis will stir it up, then you end up with sand in the filters etc etc, not good.

I like the tank Paul, looks good:clap::clap:

What are you using to maintain the plants?
ie CO2, ferts etc

I don't really use anything for the plants. I use a small dose feet every now and then but nothing special. They're just bunched plants from lfs.

Stocking wise there's:

1 gold nugget (2.5")
1 bristlenose (3")
1 L190 (2")
1 L200 (2")
10 Serpae Tetra
1 Red tailed black shark

Everyone gets on well and there's never scraps.
