Hi All.
My name is Denis Goulding and i live in Dublin Ireland. I have been keeping all sorts of fish for twenty years now on and off and have for the last year or two been consumed with plecs and breeding them.
It is hard to get varietys of plecs here in Ireland at a decent price but i have just trudged on. My bns have now been breeding steadily over the last year and i know have calico, lemon l144 and albino bns that i am growing out aswell.
This week will see the purchase of half a dozen LDA01'S ( WILD CAUGHT SO NEED AWAY OF DISTINGUISHING MALE AND FEMALES ) as my next project.
I would be interested in any other varietys that are a little harder to breed . So suggestions welcome.
This site is truly smazing with lots of great info and will be surfing about for the next few weeks.
I am a member of lots of other sites so some would know me as essoxluciouss
Regards,
Denis

Hi,

Thanks for the warm welcome people.
This week i will be purchasing them , out of a group of 24 i am going to get 6 depending on the price.
But has anyone any knowledge on sexing these critters, they will be wild caught semi mature to adult . Just need to know as i am picking them out 2 males maybe 4 females.
What would u go for,
Regards,
Denis

Hi Denis and welcome aboard. Nice to rank up the contingent from The Emerald Isle. Only fairly new here myself (like on the ITFS back home) but found lots of people to be real friendly with advice and help. Can't really help on the whole sexing of the LDA01's I'm afraid as I've no experience with these, but Irene's given fairly sound advice here. :hi:
