I acquired a 'giant' male L66 SL 5"+ as a showpiece to groom for competition as he is impressive in size and bulk as well as very nice black and (more) white contrast and markings. Thinking that he must be an old bull, past his prime, I did not expect any action from him. Imagine my surprise when I found that he trapped a female (puny compared to him) and now has been gently raising the frys in his cave even after 2 weeks plus. The wrigglers have totally absorbed their egg sac, but dad seems to be still caring for them. I am not sure of the size of this spawn and its my first L66 spawn (3rd sp after L46 and Hypan sp. (lower Xingu).

Thought I share this observation in case its useful that they continue to be virile way past the max size reported. If it was only my misconception, I stand corrected.

p.s. I know this post must have pics, so will try to take unless you guys dont mind tail fin n cave variety :)

Good going :D
I have an older group of zebras that don't seem interested in breeding no matter what i try, while a young pair breed away merrilly.

Glad to hear the old dog hasn't lost his touch :D
