Panacur25 can be dosed in an aquarium at 1mL/40L for 2 - 3 days or 10mL/100L for 24hrs. Not sure on higher dose rates.

I think it is a cow, sheep, pig and poultry wormer mostly, most dog and cat wormer's contain Praziquantel which can also be used on fish.

Hi,

Sorry haven't been on pp in a while but just read this and thought I would add my little bit lol.

levamisole hydrochloride is used in the aquatic scene but the formulation is difficult with regards to fish. Having said that people do use it with clown loaches with no problems so it must be very very safe! Will try and find out more about available formulations.

'dw1305' Darrel is correct in saying panacur is more toxic. This is why although it is used for small animals (cats and dogs) its not commonly used as it can cause GIT problems.

We use Tremazol (sera med) the active ingredient is praziquantel and is well tolerated with fish can be obtained from ebay or most aquatic retailers.

hope that helps

I have used Panacur25 safely on Swordtails to treat for Cammalanus worms in the water @ 1mL/40L.
I use it for skin flukes on Guppies in the water at the same dose rate.
And i have also used it @ 10mL/100L for a 24hrs on Corydoras & Metynnis in the water.

Fenbendazole aka Flubenol dose rates in water: (according to Gerald Bassleer - The New Illustrated Guide To Fish Diseases) are
(pure substance)200mg/100L for 24 - 48hrs then wc & repeat in 1 week.
For better results mix it with a little ethylalcohol.

In food:
200mg/100g fish food for 5 - 7 days & repeat in 2 weeks.

Apparently also effective against Planaria.

Thanks for that, under that arrangement Praziquantel would be my drug of choice.
