it might sound dumb lol it is my pepp tank is 4 foot with just pepps so i added some guppies i thought they pop them out every couple of weeks should release some sort of hormons lol still she trys he pushes her away !

is it good or bad or even pointless what iv done?

it fills 2 points tank looked empty so thought need to put something anyways ?

well to me it doesnt really matter... the guppies wont interfer with the pepps breeding when they start.... and the pepps wont eat the guppies either....
except if you have guppy deaths then they'll munch away on it like any other carcass
as for stimulating the male into breeding with guppy hormones.... i have heard of people doing this but IMO it doesnt make alot of difference... if it does induce the male and hes not really ready he may kill the female in the cave...

so its up to you what you decide.... but he'll breed when hes ready... there maybe something in your water that the male disapproves of and he's waiting for better water conditions...

good news guys i was looking in the tank just now and decided to check the sizes and sex the others

i have 6 pepps all up which i thought were 5m and 1female
i was only able to catch 2 of the four that i have separated well the 2 to my suprise look to be females so just to make sure i grabed my male that is separteded with the female to see simularities between them and BAM i open the lid of the cave

EGGS lol not meny about 20-30 but :woohoo: so happy they did it

now im thinking about sexing the others but il wait just incase i have a male with eggs on the otherside

i had separated 1m 1f in 1/3 of a 4 footer
and the other 4 in 2/3 of the tank!

Great news! I would like to try breeding Pepps next. You must get piccies of the young ones when they get their colour. They usually look really pretty.
