OK experienced friends, after setting up a larger tank for my ever growing Pleco, Harvey, I start searching the web for planting ideas. I'm in love with those tanks that are full of green-ness. I had to wait out our extra cold winter to order in Ricca (chrystalwart). Bought two and a java moss, tied them to rocks and placed them in the tank. (I know this will make you laugh). Harvey has munched daily on these new plants! So here's my question...are there any recommend plants for Pleco tanks? I've gone to the gallery and studied the pictures and realize that this fish needs the bottom of the tank for his movements. I'd love some advice!

It's likely he will unintentionally dig up anything rooted in the substrate, because it won't get a chance to establish itself.
Try Anubias species that can be tied to wood and rocks and have leathery bad-tasting leaves, and floating plants like amazon frogbit.
Also if you can protect the plants from being dug up (maybe surround them with stones) you could try some amazon swords or something fast-growing like a pennywort species?

agree with what Mol Pmb says. Anubias are great for pleco tanks I find, as they tend not to taste them and do not like the flavour. cheers jk
