please explain TDS TSS and PPM to me

can someone please explain to me what these are and how they are important to breeding, as i am currently trying to breed my l333 colony

hi, tds is Total dissolved solids, so its a measure of how much stuff is disolved in the water.
salts, minerals etc. the fish need a certain amount of minerals so totally pure water tds=0 is not good for them. RO water has had everything removed so is tds zero. so we add some minerals back with special salts. rain water is very low tds, almost pure, wheras some tap water from hard water areas, is high.
to measure the tds you can buy a small electric dip meter (about £20). this will measure the purity of the water. some meters measure in parts per thousand, some in parts per million (PPM).
some fish like soft water with low tds, and lowering the tds helps to mimic the rainy season which can induce breeding.
sorry no idea what TSS is, but guess its similar to tds.?
