Please help me learn more about "Potato"

This is potato, He was sold to me as a common however he doesn't really look like one to me, I would like to find out his type so I can better accommodate his needs, Thank you in advance!

Looks like a Hypostomus plecostomus to me...which is actually the true common pleco. Which kind of got replaced with the other 'commons' you see in the market today.

Note: That this is the only pleco to actually carry plecostomus in it's scientific name.

It looks like him other than the body spots, he doesn't have any spots on his body except his stomach, and his fins are stripped on spotted

Edit: It was hard to even get these pictures but when he's out you can really see the stripes, He was pretty mad about the light so his fins are all tucked away but they're pretty.
