Pleco ID please

Hi all,

I got this off a friend and was wondering exactly what it was. If anybody knows the price that something like this would sell for that would also be appreciated.

Also, is that brown spot behind its head normal?

Its Pterygoplichthys, I would guess Pterygoplichthys pardalis. It is one of the 'common plecs' and worth very little, if anything.

That brown/red mark doesn't look good, it looks a sign of some sort of illness.

It looks like internal bleeding to me. Hope he can make it.

Oh dear, I hope its not internal bleeding...
I've been told he has had this for awhile and that his previous tank mates were quite agressive. When looking at the spot it is a dark brown if that helps. Seeing as hes had it for awile I presumed it was natural (and my lack of pleco knowledge).

What matubula said, either P. pardalis or P. disjunctivus. Can't make a more definitive answer from this photo. Need a belly shot to positively ID.
