"Porsa" Racking

I am wanting to set up a few breeding tanks specifically for cats (I am a cichlid keeper mostly) and was wondering what people thought of "Porsa" type racking?
I am planning on 6x standard 3 foot tanks and would like people's opinions on versatility, strength and overall construction in using these racks with that amount of weight.

I know they are very popular in Europe and I have also had a 4x2x2 which had this as a stand without problems.

The major reasoning behind wanting to use something like this is the ease of building and transporting (No access to ute etc so welded stands are out of the question). I also don't have the skills or tools to make a tiered set up of that size.

Here are some pictures for those who don't know what I am talking about:

All help is appreciated.

Hi,

OK my views on this.
I am sure this racking system does have a max weight capacity. It should be stainless or rust proof at least. Make sure you have enough space above the tank to get access to items or to remove decorations etc.
I think also you need to look at the cost of such a rack compared to others that are around. Personally I would like to have a set up with room on each side of the tank for either the filters or space to place goods. I recently bought a second hand heavy duty 3tier rack 2400l x 1800h x 450w for aud 300. Look at my set up http://www.plecoplanet.com/forum/showthread.php?t=14560 . Per shlp the capacity is 1200kg,so it is heavy duty. Plenty of room for stuff on the side etc. hope this helps you. cheers jk

I do like pallet racking but I just don't have the footprint room for it. I'm limited with space until I move (hopefully soon).

Cheers for your comment.
