I would gradually raise the ph by doing 10% water changes each day. so no sudden changes. they will be healthier if living at a better ph for them.

Hey, welcome to the forum:)

If the tapwater is 6 then something is causing the ph to drop which in turn is usually the result of a low KH. I would check the KH for starters, you can get KH test kits at the lfs. Also what decor do you have in the tank ie wood? plus what type of substrate? are you using co2 at all?

It could well be the bogwood but I would check the KH first as chances are its lowish.
