As you know I have an l144, which I've had for 5 months now, he's doing well, but he never eats the veg ive put in? I feed half an algae wafer overnight which usually gets eaten but i think my pandas may eat it. I have tried courgette and cucumber but he never seems to touch it? I often see him working his way round the tank in the evenings doing what I presume is eating algae, (quite alot in my tank :D)

Should I be worried or just leave him to it?

I would carry on with algae wafer and veg. He prob having nibble at both and eating algae in tank. As there is only a finite amout of algae in tank.
If you had him for 5 months he is obviously doing well.
I have never seen some of my pleco's eat but i do feed just before lights out.

Its probably eating the veg when you're not looking :dk: my 144 turn courgette into shreds overnight :D but I never see the 309 eating it but they are fat and alive so must be

If you're feeding both wafers & veggies at the same time my bet is it's eating the wafers. The majority of wafers on the market contain significant amounts of animal based matter & many fish would choose to feed on the wafers rather than the veggies especially if its been feeding on wafers prior to the introduction of veggies.

well said and i would have to agree

im not to sure about your set up but if you are also feeding other fish in your aquarium then he would also be eating what they leave behind!

p.s. if you have alot of algae i would be sure to say it's not eating it!
