hello all you lovely people (is it me or do i sound really hippy like today?!?)

I went on a shopping spree on the dime of pets@home, who i have to say are being amazing about it all. I lost 40£ worth of plants so they said to buy the stuff, give them the reseipt and they will refund me the money! like i say what better customer service can you get? (except for all this sh~*t not happening in the first place!)

Ok so i bought a hug piece of bog wood with two huge plants already grafted onto it it is about 50cm long by 15 cm wide! I also bought this beautiful bulbed plant that ends up with white flowers that float on the surrface...i'll be posting in the plant section to ask people what they think all these plants are called!! I also bought 5 bunched plants and a large piece of moor wood that i am soacking (out of my own pocket). I took the chance to update my water testing kit and so far all it perfect!

I also added some more stom=nes i collected from the beach and i have put in a piece of rose quartz for the short term just to add another hidy hole.... i think there is enough hiding places now but if you guys have any other ideas?
The only hting i have left to do, that i know of, is add more sand because ben the banjo catfish is not happy!!

Fantastic news that the store is giving a refund but sadly as you are I am sure aware this sort of thing is all to common, Stores like "Pets @Home " and "Bunnies are Us" have a higher management structure that sees live stock as a commodity.
Not a lot wrong with that if your staff and area managers show respect for the livestock and can offer advice on animal husbandry that is sound and based on experience.
Sadly with the scramble for work amongst young people and the general disregard for knowledge, we have people working with animals that have not got the right training . We as fish keepers need to spot this and try to offer advice and our knowledge by directing people in stores who are buying fish or fish related items to web sites like this.

Hi all,
Microsorium pteropus Windelov and the other may be Aponogeton ulvaceus
I'd agree with both of D-MAC's ID's, tank looks great and they are both really good plants. How much was the planted wood? the fern is enormous.

cheers Darrel

I think you got a good deal, it would take at least a year to grow a Java Fern that big, even if you started with a "mother" plant.
